Evaluation

KIRAN'S ESSAY

As soon as the trailer starts, the lighting is low key, it stays like this throughout the whole of the trailer, this is because ir is relevent to the genre, the film is a horror film, the darkness creates an intense atmosphear which is necassery, because it informs the viewer that the film is going to be scary. Also, it helps to create shadows, and make the film look more mysterious, which makes you want to watch the film.

As soon as the trailer starts, the lighting is low key, it stays consistent throughout the trailer, create a tense and dark atmosphere and allow the audience become aware immediately what genre the trailer is. The film is a horror film, the editing and use of colors was effective because the black background and the red font connotes 'blood' and the effect of the trailer begins to sustain itself all the way through. The camera angles were also effective by the use of medium close ups and close ups and shots, these shot in particular allowed the audience to be involved within the film because the camera angles is exactly what the audience would have seen if they were there.

MEENA'S ESSAY


The most recognizable feature in this film is the costumes. This is because the costumes show the ethnicity of the people in the production and also shows the culture that should be expected in the movie. An example of this is 1.45 of the production where the clothing and the throwing of the red powder shows the obvious indian tradition of marriage so instantly we astabolish that this movie is Indian based and is going to be based on a love story.

Immediately as the trailer begins the most recognizable feature in this film is the costumes. The costumes connotes Indian culture and allows the audience to acknowledge what the trailer is about, the costumes also show the ethnicity of the characters in the production. Therefore, we immediately establish what the genre of the film is going to be based upon.

There are many different features of the trailer that makes it a successful trailer.
Firstly the sound of the trailer attracts the audience in even more closer than they already are, there is a use of Diegetic and non- Diegetic sound. The use of both of these sounds in the trailer is very successful, as by the audience listening to the diegetic sound it helps them to understand more clearly what is going on in the trailer. Also the dialogue language used in the trailer is referred to as slang, for example:
“you think you’re bad yeah… Show me what you got”

There are many different features of the trailer that makes a succesful trailer, such as lighting, music, editing and camera work.
